There are plenty of things to report this week at Beer HQ, not in the least, the successful Beer & Brewer Conference
last week. The sessions were full of plenty of debate and some sterling
advice from those in the know across the industry. There’s a full
wrap-up on the blog with details of sessions and topics covered.
And with everyone still basking in the glory of their winnings at the AIBA, there is a lot of good will and happy feelings still floating around the industry – and rather a lot of press releases regarding who won what in terms of medals. So for those of you who are interested in more than just the trophy winners, the full catalogue of medals can be found here. And congrats again to all the breweries that claimed medals and trophies – the Aussie and Kiwi brewing industry is certainly a force to be reckoned with.
In other news, Aussies will soon be treated to a TV show all about beer inventions. Named The Beer Factor and presented by Hahn, as an extension of their Pioneering Beering campaign, it appears to be based on the concept of the New Inventors
– the recently axed ABC TV show. As filming is yet to begin, the
details are scarce but they have put a call out for participants who
have created a ‘beer invention’. Not to make beer mind you – that is
what Hahn is doing – but to make the experience of drinking beer better
and/or more entertaining. If any of you are up for the challenge, you

Sydney Craft Beer And Cider Fair
The Oak Barrel Liquor Store will be launching the Sydney Craft Beer and Cider Fair on Saturday 26 May 2012. This will be an annual indoor event showcasing international & Australian craft beer and cider. The fair will host over 20 stallholders each showcasing a variety of brands with over 80 craft beers and ciders on tasting. For the inaugural event there will be an emphasis on local craft producers.
